At BangBet, we believe that our success is deeply tied to the communities that support us.

That’s why we were incredibly proud to organize a heartfelt CSR event in Makueni County, where we were able to make a real difference in the lives of widows, orphans, and the local community.

A Day of Giving Back

The event took place at Kako Comprehensive School, where over 1,000 beneficiaries received food donations.

These donations came just in time for the festive season, offering families a chance to celebrate Christmas with dignity and joy.

We wanted to bring hope to those who need it most, especially during such a challenging time of the year.

Supporting the Unsung Heroes: Widows

Reverend Dr. Jane Makau, Chairperson of the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB), graced the event. Dr. Makau, who grew up in the area, spoke about the importance of supporting widows, who often carry the heavy responsibility of managing households alone.

She described them as the unsung heroes of society, doing the impossible to keep their families intact.

“We are here today to show our support and uplift these strong women who carry so much on their shoulders,” Dr. Makau said. We were humbled by her words and proud to be part of an event that recognizes their strength.

Our Commitment to Giving Back

As a company, we are driven by the belief that success must be shared.

Our Manager, David Gichuhi, emphasized this during his speech, sharing how this CSR initiative reflects our core values. “Our CSR programs are not just about charity, but about building stronger communities. Today’s event is a small step towards making a meaningful difference,” he said. We are committed to doing more and ensuring that our efforts have a lasting impact.

Water for a Better Future

The generosity didn’t stop with food donations. We are also proud to have funded a borehole project at Kako Comprehensive School. This borehole will provide clean water to the school and surrounding communities, tackling a major issue that has affected the area for years.

Having access to clean water is vital for health and development, and we’re thrilled to contribute to this much-needed resource.

Encouragement from Community Leaders

We were honored to have other influential figures at the event, including Principal Secretary for Devolution, Teresia Mbaika Malokwe, and Hon. Harriette Chiggai, the President’s Advisor on Women’s Rights.

Both women commended our efforts to support vulnerable communities and encouraged other businesses to follow suit. It’s always inspiring to see so many people coming together for such a meaningful cause.

Gratitude from the Beneficiaries

The smiles on the faces of the widows, orphans, and families who attended the event were priceless. Many expressed how the food donations would help them celebrate Christmas in a way they hadn’t imagined possible. Their gratitude was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

Looking Ahead: More to Come

At BangBet, we are just getting started. Our CSR initiatives are an ongoing commitment to the communities that have supported us. This event in Makueni is only one of many ways we aim to give back. We are excited to continue working alongside local communities to create lasting change.

We are proud of the impact we’ve made so far, and we are even more excited about what lies ahead. Together, we can make a difference—one donation, one project, and one life at a time.
